One Vision. One Mission. Students First.
Gifts of every size move the University forward.
The Stockton Center for Community Engagement (SCCE) facilitates training, research and educational enrichment for students through collaborative efforts with campus groups; local, state and regional community organizations and government agencies. The Center maintains fellowship opportunities for students, in which they can serve as community leaders working for social justice. One such opportunity is the Homework Completion Program, where student fellows work with the University, Atlantic City Police Department, Atlantic City Housing Authority and Urban Development Agency to assist local school children with homework, encourage them to pursue a college education and foster trust in police officers.
The following priorities will be supported through Ospreys Give 2019:
Student Fellows — gifts fund the salaries of fellows, who earn $10 per hour and can work up to 100 hours per semester, making their stipend for each semester $1,000. The SCCE Student Fellow roster has grown over the last three years in size, diversity and capability. The SCCE hopes to offer more fellowships to Stockton students. Approximately 312 Stockton students and 13 police officers have supported roughly 198 Atlantic City and Pleasantville students in recent years.
