Who we are:
The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NAMS) provides a rigorous, student-centered curriculum for science and mathematics majors with an emphasis on faculty-mentored student research. We pride ourselves in providing our undergraduate students a unique, high-quality education in small-school environment. With your support, we will continue to offer opportunities that enable our students to develop laboratory and field based skills that are necessary for success in future employment, as well as understanding and communicating scientific findings to the community at large.
In addition, support from generous donors allows us to continue to bridge the gap of educational disparities within our local community by providing scholarships to talented students from underrepresented populations. Through our two-week summer enrichment program, rising-senior high school students are given an opportunity to explore the many high-demand, well-paying careers in STEM disciplines. Your gift today will help us to continue to make a difference within our community and provide incredible opportunities for the long-term success of our students.
How you can help:
Make an impact and a gift today by contributing to one of our NAMS priorities:
Student Spaceflight Program (SSEP) - The SSEP is a national Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education initiative that enables students the opportunity to undertake an authentic, highly-visible research experiment with the International Space Station. Donations will fund travel for student participation at the 2018 SSEP Annual National Conference and the launch of Mercury payload on SpaceX-13 in the summer of 2018. Learn more about this program here.
Science Enrichment Academy at Stockton (SEAS) - Donations to this fund enables NAMS to advance equity and promote opportunities for rising-senior high school students, from underrepresented and underserved population, with scholarships to participate in the Science Enrichment Academy at Stockton (SEAS). SEAS is a two-week residential experiential learning program in which students are involved in classroom, laboratory and field experiences. Learn more about this program here.
Dennis Weiss Student Travel Fund - This fund supports travel for student and faculty across scientific disciplines to attend research symposiums, field trips and scientific conferences and present the results of their work.
Program Support - NAMS strives to provide every student with an enriching experience. Program support provides the resources necessary to offer a well-rounded education such as student and faculty program research opportunities. To learn more, click here.
